Tuesday’s meeting at Sheffield saw some fresh young talent make winning starts to their racing days in South Yorkshire.
The Lisa Stephenson-trained Ballycowan Kara, who won one of her four starts at Cork, made a promising debut in an A4 where she showed good early to lead by the initial corner and ran on strongly to score by three lengths in 29.64 for the 500 metres.
Elaine Parker’s Mumhan Alainn, another Cork winner before crossing the water, made her first start in an A3 and showed determination to hang on for a short head success in 29.67, while El Pixie had her first ever start in an A5 and pleased trainer Norman Melbourne with a half-length success in 30.14.
