Assistant trainer Rab McNair plans to enter four for the forthcoming Coral Sussex Cup following a positive night of trials at Hove on Saturday.
Quickest of his quartet was King Lennon with an excellent 29.70 performance. Litter brothers Sheeran, Dylan and Cash also went well.
McNair said: “It was a great run by Lennon, but he has shown that ability throughout his career in solos and two dog trials. You only have to look back to his 27.67 trial at Monmore when he was a baby. His problems have always come when he has been up against other dogs. But I do think he has matured well so we will see. I plan to enter them in trialstakes next week.”
So who is the quicker, Lennon or Sheeran?
McNair said: “In a two dog trial over 500 metres, I would edge it to Sheeran. But over the 515, I think Lennon would catch him.”
