Qatar Fortune (Droopys Scolari-Bellmore Ruby, Nov 13) set a new 450m track record at Doncaster on Wednesday night. The Elaine Parker trained black untried at the track and beaten in his previous eight at Sheffield, went to traps as a 6-4 chance and was impressive from the boxes. The blue jacketed runner came home almost seven clear of Scullys Emid in 27.42, one spot inside the previous best.
Kennelmate Killacolla View (Paradise Madison-Killacolla Glory, Apr 14) was equally as impressive over the 483m trip. Despite not leading until the backstraight, the 5-1 chance beat Overcharge by just under three lengths in 29.28, the fastest time over course and distance since Redbrick Stuart’s 2013 recording of 29.21.
Geelo Bolt (Archaton Pine-Last Spice, Oct 13) was 15 spots outside the sprint track record when taking the 275m open in 16.78.
