Painstown Chief hadn’t won for the best part of five months before he came to Longford for the Derby heats but he’s found his form again and is now the one to beat in the 2015 Longford Derby Final over 550 yards tomorrow.
Paul Hennessy’s runner, who had a 28.44 on his card from Shelbourne Park, won in the opening round in 29.95 and in last week’s semi-finals he went even better when scoring a trap to line win in 29.62sec, the fastest time of the year.
Running from the same trap three he can quickly assert his authority.
Revilo Blue looks the chief threat. Phillip Fitzpatrick’s dog has won three from six and clocked 29.88sec in the second round.
Francie Murray’s Long Term has a cracking draw on the fence and recorded 29.84sec in the semi-finals.
