Mossvale Ace (Ace Hin Rumble-Blue Bee) produced one of the finest performances ever seen at Henlow to land the Bunny Bookmakers Gold Cup.
The Derek Knight trained black led from trap to line to win by six and a quarter lengths from Sky Dancer in 33.39 for the 550 metres. The judge rated the going at a conservative -35, no doubt influence by the fact that the winner beat the same rival by six and a half lengths in 33.05 (+15) in the semis. (On that occasion Ace’s sectional was 25 spots slower).
To put the run into context, Jet Stream Sound 32.87 track record was set on a track rated .20 fast and Kevin Hutton’s dog won a supporting open later on tonight’s card at Ace in 33.89.
