Trainer Peter Wood has been forced to put Daytime Flyer’s comeback on hold after the dog picked up an injury in a recent trial writes John Forbes.
A strong contender for the top two-bend honours at the end of the year, the dog has been out of action since August when he had his tonsils removed after a below par performance at Monmore where he suffered from breathing problems.
He looked set for a comeback on the All England Cup final card, but was later found to have sprained a dewclaw, which had to be removed an Wood says: “His top target for the back end of the year has always been the National Sprint at Nottingham and as that is not until December time is on our side.”
