Daytime Flyer, one of the leading candidates for the Sprinter of the Year award, will be back in action at Sunderland on Friday.
The winner of the Festival Flyer and the BresMed Northern Sprint, who has not raced since August, has been entered for the sprint on Wearside as the final test before the start of the National Sprint at Nottingham next Monday.
Trainer Peter Wood says: “He cramped up a little bit after his trial at Nottingham on Monday (18.18), but he seems fine. It’s not perfect preparation for Nottingham, but we’ll give it a go and enter him tomorrow and then he’ll have the run on Friday. I don’t really think it takes that much to get a sprinter back to fitness.”
