We conclude the first round timings with the ‘from halfway’ clocks. A reminder that the split is ‘approximately’ at the halfway mark, but all runners are digitally clocked to that same mark. Also, as a way of visual guide we have once again split the timings into thirds with green representing the quickest third, orange for the middle group, and red for the slowest third. The reason for that will become obvious in the chart lower down the page.

As it stands though, it was Barefoot Supremo who proved the ultimate finisher which provides an interesting insight since he won the race that also featured the fastest to halfway run, by Bubbly Apache. So maybe Apache’s rapid decline in the latter stages might have appeared slightly exagerrated? As for Wide Open, who couldn’t recognise that powerful finish as being very similar to her dam’s half sister, Unlock Unlock?

From halfway timings

Finally we round them up together. It may take a second or two to work it out but we continue with the same colour system across all three columns for each runner with this filter based on race times. So to use Lautaro as an example:

His 15.54 represents his time to ‘halfway’. The 13.30 is his time from ‘halfway’ to the winning line with the 28.84 being the two combined (his winning time). Clearly pace throughout.

There are a few interesting pointers. For example, Barefoot Supremo was in the mid range for the run to halfway but such was his power in nthe second half of the race that it enabled him to finish fourth fastest with a 29.06 winning time. What of the likes of Bubbly Apache and Signet Ace who both would normally see out the trip but possibly looked in need of the race.
