Happy Days made history last Saturday when becoming the first 2014 whelp to win a race.
Owned by the Letterkenny-lads-syndicate, the brindle daughter of Razldazl Jayfkay and Grace Lightning– fortuitously whelped on New years 2014 – led all the way on debut to clock 19.52 for Lifford’s 350yds.
Two nights later, her litter sister Full Of Grace, who had finished second on debut in March, became the second ’14 winner when successful in a Derry sprint.
Under the GBGB rules of racing, no British trained 2014 whelp would be allowed to have its qualifying trials until the start of its 15th month, effectively nine days ago.
