Romford’s Dog of the Month for May has a familiar ring to it. Bolshoi Booze (Kinloch Brae-Breeze Hill July, Sep 12) was winning the title for a second consecutive month
Owned by Messrs GM & R Downes and trained by Phil Simmonds, the black won three of his four outings and collected a £500 open race final. He has won seven of his eleven races this year.
The bitch’s title was shared:
Toorphelim Betty (Makeshift-Toorphelim Miss, Jun 13), owned by Mrs D Salter And Mrs G D Shaw and trained By John Simpson, went to traps four times, and won three of them, all three wins being recorded within seven spots of each other.
Newlawn Amelia (Black Shaw-Toysotry Lady, Jun 13), owned by Mr P J Claxson and trained by Phil Simmonds produced and identical 3/4 record landing A4, A3 and A2 in the process.
