Now into the autumn and the new ‘FOYs’ has flowed to a trickle. There are eight changes to the chart since our last check with Dorotas Wildcat’s second race back from lay-off the pick of the bunch.

Elsewhere there are a couple of interesting lines. The first is Droopys Live adding the Newcastle 670m time to the 640m run already in her portfolio.

The difference between the two runs as 201 spots. However she was only seven spots outside the shorter track record but 46 spots outside the 670m best.

With the St.Leger on our doorstep, Magical Icarus won the first 710m open of the year. His winning time was 43.35 but on going rated -40.

If you are unfamiliar with the times at Perry Barr, last year Leger winner Rubys Rascal was recording regularly around the 43.00 mark but had a FOY of 42.69 (N).

On the subject of Mark Wallis trained stayers, Brigadier Bullet went quickest over Henlow’s 692m course with a run of 42.36 (+40). In doing so, he bettered the previous best of litter sister Baroness Bullet of 42.53, though her run was recorded on normal going.
