The three Central Park track records head this week’s chart with the 11 spots shave from Affleck Bolt, probably the pick of the three.
Those runs inevitably overshadowed two other particularly impressive performances with Ballymac Osby and Piemans Bullet both chipping away at their own landmarks.
The Steel City Cup meeting saw ‘non staying’ Roxholme Nidge clock 28.53, which was six spots off his personal best recorded in the semi finals last year. Interestingly, he has never raced over the sprint of 480 courses but has trialled over both with bests of 15.70 and 27.40 (calc). The track record is 27.32.
That was some debut too for Forest Jason contesting just the fourth race of his career having clocked 28.40 at Newbridge in his last Irish race.
There were also a couple of very quick runs on Monday night with Nidge’s kennelmate Roxholme Hat clocking 17.51 (+10) – his PB is 17.33 (+20).
Over the 500m course, Martinstown Band bettered his previous best with a 29.33 run (TR 29.16).
