He Got Fame is Wimbledon bound after winning his fourth race on the bounce and his fifth at Nottingham in the Betfred Mobile Standard Trophy over 500 metres on Monday writes Jason Craddock.
Franny Lenton’s runner made his customary fast start and was soon clear. He eventually beat local runner Glencroft Bolt by five and a half lengths in a fast 29.68sec.
Lenton said afterwards: “The dog absolutely loves it at Nottingham and has broken the 5 second sectional barrier three times now.
“He’s beaten some good dogs along the way in decent times and deserves a crack at the William Hill Greyhound Derby.
“We’ll take him down to Wimbledon now and run him on one of the trial stakes there.”
Charlie Lister was the trainer of the night supplying five winners including two eye-catching debutants.
His Deanridge Kerry, formerly Coolavanny Kerry, was a trap to line winner of a 480 metre maiden, scoring by almost nine lengths in 28.86sec.
Teds Last, also bought out of the same Juveneile Classic at Tralee, rode a first bend bump in a 500 metre maiden to edge out Alma Angel by half a length in 30.26sec.
Affane Scolari went quickest in the heats of the Stadium Bookmakers Guys & Dolls Trophy over 480 metres.
John Lambe’s runner flew out and made all to hold Johnny Vivaro by just over a length in 28.82sec.
Coolavanny Lass led off the second turn in the Dolls race to beat Molly The Legend by two lengths in 29.05sec.
Cape Impact was quickest over the 305 metre sprint course. Chris Allsopp’s runner trapped in front and came home a length clear of Kilmagner Mike in 17.73sec.
