Skywalker Isak put himself into pole position for the forthcoming Steel City Puppy Derby with an impressive 29.20 trialstake win at Sheffield on Tuesday night.
With only six days to go before the £15K to winner competition closes, a string of kennels are making plans. Thursday’s session is full (below) but PGR Puppy Derby runner-up Cooliogold is among Friday’s trialists. There are no trials on Saturday, but there will be another session on Tuesday.
Trainers might also want to note that they can still enter for Tuesday night’s trialstakes even though the competition officially closes at Noon the same day.
Racing Manager Andrew Mascarenhas said: “We won’t be going through the entries until Wednesday, but the must have been entered before the closing date.
“We still have space for anyone looking to trial and there are some decent pups among them. I was very impressed with Skywalker Isak on Tuesday night; he overcame a lot of trouble to win it. As for the locals, we have some nice youngsters but I couldn’t really pick any of them out as a potential winner of the event.”
