Mays Teejay and Urban Road showed no signs of wear and tear when both winning at Henlow on Sunday.
Pam Dolby’s Teejay (Last Bid-Tallys Princess, Aug 11) made it four wins from his last five when taking the £750 sprint final by a head from Kildare Hi in 16.72. Teejay was the oldest runner on the card and he was taking part in the 95th race of his career.
Earlier in the meeting, Urban Road (Westmead Hawk-Tullig Paula, Jan 12) had clocked the fastest of the three Midi heat winners. Ray Pleasant’s black, contesting the 102nd race of his career, beat Savana Minstrel in 33.77. The other qualifiers went to Swift Edwards (33.78) and Mays Stardust (33.85) – all races on -30.
Track record holder Saffrons Anna (Droopys Scolari-Dash On Lucy, Nov 12) was 10 spots of the course best with a 25.60 win. mark Wallis’ bitch has five wins and two seconds in her last seven outings. The other qualifiers went to Ballaghboy View (25.92) and Westmead Rossi (25.64).
