Totepool’s Brent Dolan is hoping that a new jackpot record for a British greyhound track – which includes a £38,00 carry-over – will be set at Tuesday’s Romford’s televised card write Floyd Amphlett.
He said: “We had a £93,000 jackpot at Sheffield last year which was shared by two winners. We also had a £25,000 jackpot on RPGTV. But I think we could get into six figures this time.
“Things tend to take off once you get past somewhere around £40,000 and of course there will be people looking to buy the pool at odds over just over 46,000-1.
“It has taken a while in a sport traditionally known for betting fixed odds, but the interest in tote pools is definitely increasing.”
