GBGB senior Steward Paul Illingworth is to join Entain following a restructuring of their greyhound racing operation and the departure in the autumn of Ian Smyth.

The former Deputy Racing Manager at Romford becomes Head of Stadia Commerical role, with Entain’s Dan Sheppard taking on the ‘Head of Stadia Operations’ role.

Release

In recent weeks, we’ve undertaken a rigorous recruitment process as we’ve searched for candidates to fill our senior positions within the Stadia organisation here at Entain and I’m now very pleased to be able to confirm those appointments.

Paul Illingworth, currently of the GBGB, will be joining us in March next year, taking on the Head of Stadia – Commercial role and will be responsible for the Racing proposition across our four tracks with the Racing Managers and their offices all reporting into Paul. It goes without saying, that Paul’s extensive knowledge and experience of the sport is a welcomed addition to us here at Entain. In addition, Dan Sheppard, currently employed by Entain in our Retail business, will be moving across to Stadia and takes on the position as the Head of Stadia – Operations from Jan 1st 2023. The four Stadia Managers and their teams will all line into Dan and the new Operational role. Dan has many years of Operational experience and is motivated with the fresh challenge of working in the exciting world of Greyhound racing.

The new structure and appointments of both Paul and Dan, I believe, put Entain in a very strong position as we look forward to 2023 and beyond.

During periods of change it can create uncertainty, but our four Stadia and all employees within, have continued to work tirelessly and to the high standards we deliver here at Entain. I’m personally extremely thankful for their patience, understanding and commitment during this time.
