Droopys Nine (Central City-Droopys Solange, Feb 14) overturned kennelmate and hot favourite Droopys Roddick, to win the €5,000 Red Mills Future Champion Unraced at Enniscorthy.
Nine had two lengths to find to beat his kennelmate on semi final form, but the result was never in doubt as he led from trap to line to clock the fastest time of the competition, 28.71 (-30). The winning distance was a length.
The Robert Brinkley owned winner, who is a litter brother to Droopys Story (24.00 Romf) is drawn in trap three of the fifth heats of Saturday’s RFS Puppy Derby at Wimbledon. Droopys Roddick goes from trap one in heat three (subject to last registration).
