Elaine Parker enjoyed the sweet taste of success in another Sheffield competition when Damson Jam took the spoils in the Winner of 1 final on Tuesday night.
The April 2013 son of Droopys Scolari and Dalcash Tara only just qualified for the decider after getting caught up in traffic in his heat, but this time he got to the front before they hit the back straight and was able to cash in on the problems that broke out in his wake, denying the late efforts of Glenpadden Wood by a neck in 28.97 for the 500 metres.
The card also saw Kevin Boon introduce a promising youngster in Crime Detection. Fourth at Limerick on his only start in Ireland, the May 2013 son of Scolari Me Daddy and Bluearue Angel showed good early to take control of the contest and kept going strongly to defeat Worsboro Spectre by a length and a quarter in a decent 16.14 for the 280 metres.
