Droopys Eight (Loughteen Blacno-Droopys Cyclone, Feb14) clocked the fastest time of the day and was top lot at Sheffield Sales on Sunday.
The litter sister to open racers Peerless Trio and Droopys Five clocked 29.01 on her first glimpse of the 500 metre course and was sold to Bury St Edmunds handler Colin Finch for 5,600 guineas.
Next quickest was Happy Man (29.18) who went to David Walsh for 2,300gns. Other notable sales were Mustang Oscar (29.22/3,428gns) and Droopys Beach (29.36/2,900gns).
Sales promoter Brian Harrison said: “Very pleased with the quality of the dogs and the money around. It gets harder and harder to get the dogs but they are making decent money.”
Harrison is undecided whether or not to stage another sale before the new year.
