King Dylan went to the top of the calculated times (trials and races) for the Derby course when clocking 29.30 (+20) at Nottingham on Friday night – though Rab McNair reckons litter brother King Lennon who did 29.52 (+20) should have gone quicker still.

He said: “I didn’t see it, other than his tail swishing around but I was told that Lennon hit the rail at the first bend and then checked. I know that Jimmy (Wright) was clocking them and said he did a sensational run from the third bend.”
There was also a highly promising run from sister Queen Beyonce who clocked a flying 4.93 sectional on her way to a 29.48 (+20) run.
Rab said: “I couldn’t believe how she came away. She was through the bars. She is a bit overweight at the moment and we will gradually bring that back. I would expect her to improve in her next run.”
Henlow Maiden Derby runner-up Savana Volt was only one spot slower and already looks far better suited to the Colwick Park circuit than his home venue.
