Graham Holland had mixed fortunes in the semi-finals of the BIF Produce Stakes over 525 yards at Clonmel on Sunday.
His Amazing Dude completed a five-timer in the second semi-final but Rural Hawaii was eliminated from the event when dead-heating for fourth place in the other qualifier.
Amazing Dude, a son of Royal Patrol, forged clear on the run up in the second semi-final and went on to beat Justice Matters by four and a half lengths in 28.35sec.
Rural Hawaii looked totally unsuited to his trap four draw in the opening semi-final as he spent the first half of the race trying to get across to the outside.
Meanwhile Murt Leahy’s Ballybough Mondo had got away to a flyer and was soon clear from Haughty Slippers and Rural Hawaii.
Rural Hawaii checked up in the third turn, which left Maggies Lucy in third place and she got up close home to grab second spot off Haughty Slippy, eventually finishing a length and a half behind the 28.68sec winner.
Draw for Sunday’s final:
1 Amazing Dude
2 Ballybough Mondo
3 Justice Matters
4 Ballybough Mike (m)
5 Haughty Slippers (w)
6 Magggies Lucy (w)
