Roxholme Dream, who closed out her 2014 account in great style with victories in the St Leger and Lol Jones Memorial Festival 640, will look to put this year’s campaign back on track at Sheffield in the Pin Point Home & Healthcare Three Steps To Victory at Sheffield next week.
The bitch, whose bid for the Golden Jacket at Crayford last month ended dramatically when she was all but on the floor in her semi-final and finished fifth, showed that there were no ill-effects as she took Owlerton by storm before racing on Tuesday with a 27.65 run over the 480 metres, distance of the first leg of the Steps.
Hayley Keightley, her trainer, was delighted, saying: “That was a great run. Sheffield is not an easy track to run first time, but she went really well and I will definitely be entering her for the Three Steps To Victory. If she gets through the first two rounds over 480 and 500 metres then she should have a great chance in the final over 660 metres as that is more like her distance.”
