Roxholme Dream, beaten favourite in Tuesday’s final of the Pinpoint Health & Homecare Three Steps To Victory, was in good heart this morning and will now be aimed at the Derby writes John Forbes.
Mark Keightley, husband of trainer Hayley, says: “She has come out of the race absolutely fine and we will just be giving her two or three weeks off then bring her back with a couple of sprints. We were very proud of her in the final, she just didn’t get the luck where it mattered, but all credit to the winner Farneys Cookie, who ran really well.
“We discussed the future with the lads before the race and we agreed then that win or lose we would give her a shot at the Derby as she absolutely loves Wimbledon and we will see how far she can go. If she were to get to the final that would be great but if she was to be knocked out in the earlier rounds we would be back for the supporting 687 on final night.”
