Belle Vue have cancelled their Sunday meeting due to a shortage of available greyhounds.
GM Mick Hardy said: “We didn’t cancel it until this morning because we weren’t sure how things would develop. It has been difficult getting enough dogs back on the card in the time frame, and we were already expecting to run some four and five dog races.
“Of course at that point, you start to wonder about more late withdrawals and you certainly don’t want three-runner fields. The racing office sent out an explanation to trainers this morning. It is a short term problem and we should be back to normal for our next meeting (Wednesday).
