Greyhound racing will become the main betting opportunity following the outbreak of equine influenza with the British Horseracing Authority deciding to cancel all racing today.
Four meetings have so far been cancelled, though the full extent of the problem – which saw two horses affected at a yard in Cheshire – is still to be assessed.
A similar outbreak in Australia in 2007/8 was largely brought under control in three days, though it took several months for the problem to be completely eradicated.
