Go Dex Go went quickest in the opening round of the Gain Select Stakes over 525 yards at Waterford on Saturday. Damien Ryan’s runner was led to halfway by 2014 English Derby third Cronins Champ but he went past to score by a length in 28.33sec.
2014 Irish St Leger winner Paradise Silva was soon in front in heat three to beat Tynwald Rodney by four lengths in 28.37sec. Brendan O’Shea’s Crossfield Max led at halfway in the opening qualifier and went on to hold Texacloth Puppy Derby winner Lenson Panda by a length and a half in 28.73sec.
On the same card, Aclamon Jill clocked the fastest 550 of the year – 29.84.
