We are sad to report the death of veteran Yarmouth trainer Derek Brighton aged 85.
‘Ambi’ had suffered ill health for some time and son Mark, who has been running the kennel for the last couple of years, will take over the trainer’s licence.
While the vast majority of his runners were graded, either at Yarmouth or Mildenhall, Derek is best remembered for his open racer Barton Wade who has held the Harlow 415m track record for the last 19 years.
