The 2023 Star Sports & TRC English Greyhound Derby gets underway three weeks today.
For ante post market is still forming though it is very much in its rough state with a large number of unlikely runners.
Of the 236 greyhounds currently listed in various forms, they include hounds who have since been retired, including the 2021 winner Thorn Falcon, greyhounds who are no longer with us (Move Over Cha), hounds under two names (Kildare/Mr Chelm) and a string of runners handled by at least one trainer who is pledged to boycott the event.
Even whittling the numbers down to the top 20 in the betting is not a simple task with a number of runners featuring outside that shortlist, from bookie to bookie.
This is our first listing, which will be expanded and updated as the likely runners emerge.
