Following GBGB’s invitation for tracks to tender for the 2022 English Greyhound Derby, GBGB Managing Director Mark Bird, said:
“We are pleased to have received an expression of interest from Towcester Racecourse to host the 2022 Derby. We had hoped to find a more permanent home for the Derby and know that Towcester are keen to do just this. We look forward to reviewing a detailed submission for their plans for next year and beyond.
“As we’ve done in previous years, GBGB will now convene a Derby panel, made up of GBGB, owners’ and trainers’ representatives to review the track’s submission. The panel will meet on 31 August and we should be in a position to annouce the future of the Derby following this.”
