Stud keeper Michael Dunphy has confirmed that Derby winner sire Ace Hi Rumble has reached the end of his breeding career.
The Co. Waterford based breeder said: “He’s still alive but no longer working. He has been a good sire for us, though Westmead Hawk was the best we ever had. There were a few fighters among them, but they all had determination and could run which is what you are looking for.
“At the moment, Droopys Scolari and Tullymurry Act are the busiest stud dogs here. Act has made an incredible start to his career from only a few litters and we’ve put a lot of our best broods to him. Among the more recent ones is the dam of Droopys Nidge.”
In addition to Rio Quattro, the Dec 10 litter out of Droopys Geneva (Droopys Shearer-Little Diamond UK) includes Limerick 550yd track record breaker Jaytee Hellcat, Angel of the North runner-up Jaytee Jules, Angel of the North winner Jaytee China and Summer Classic finalist Droopys Jarrow.
Twelve year old Ace Hi Rumble, a half brother to successful Aussie sire Collision, currently heads the British open race sires table.
