Heat 1

In all four quarter finals, punter’s views will be swayed by their views of Saturday’s third round. Was there an outside bias? If so, some of the disappointing runs by railers, and there many, can be excused.

The betting suggests that the layers are expected a revival from the railers and we are going with that assumption too.

The selection would have been Lenson Rocky had he been drawn red, but Jaytee Dutch (2-1 BET 365) ran well enough in defeat last time out and should get a clear run with the slow breaking Cloran Paddy on his outside.

Heat 2

Southfield Jock (5-4 BET 365) has developed into one of the most consistent runners on the circuit and if had to find one runner to get a clear run, it would be him.

We are sticking with him despite the fact that this is his second run in three days. The dangers appear to be on either side. Blue Cafu, who went out early last year, has shown why connections had such faith in him. Yet in six solo trials, you would probably fancy Shaneboy Freddie – guilty of one of the slowest trapping exhibitions of the Derby in the last round.

Heat 3

Whatever the going, Jaytee Jet’s performance on Saturday could have shocked nobody who saw him win the Easter Cup at Shelbourne Park earlier in the year.

Best priced at 11-10 (11-10 BET 365), it is impossible to see Jet not qualifying. Better value might be the 3-1 or better about Hiya Butt (3-1 BET 365) who has done nothing wrong and could not have been more impressive to date, even on the sticky inside.

In a very strong heat for the Irish, Droopys Latina would make them all go if securing a slot behind the red on the run to the bend.

Heat 4

This heat has a ‘run six times and get four different winners’ look about it. Three, four and six will all go very fast to the turn. Not so sure about Lenson Sanchez who might be better suited to the middle.

So we are going with Droopys Roddick (4-1 BET 365) who produced one of the runs of the round to qualify on Saturday.

Who will he be trying to reel in? Six seems ton be running to form, four has never run a bad race in his career. All six dogs are good enough to be in the semis, but the draw might have an impact.
