With just a few hours before entries close for the 2022 Star Sports & TRC English Greyhound Derby, track spokesman Nathan Corden was confident that they will receive the requisite 192 first round runners. Entries close at 7pm this evening.
He said: “I am still checking through today’s entries and we are up to around 150. But I am aware of at least 25 trainers, including some of the bigger kennels, who plan to enter but still haven’t. I would amazed if we don’t pass the 192 with a few to spare.”
* Meanwhile Star Sports have confirmed that parents Steve and Kerry Murrell will present the trophy for the Star Sports Jack Murrell Memorial Trophy on Final night, Saturday June 25.
