Lost One Dare (Sparta Maestro-Cragbrien Shaw, Jun 15) recorded the fastest time of the year for HENLOW’s 460m course on Sunday with a run of 27.10 (+10).
Kevin Hutton’s runner, who had previously won in 27.12 over c&d was a spot quicker than King Elvis’ FOY and just five spots outside the track record, jointly held by Mays King and Rio Quatro.
Surprisingly, that wasn’t the closest run to a new clock on the night. Toems Lily (Newinn Wonder-Clock Lily, Jun 14) also paid testament to the groundsman’s efforts with a 16.26 victory for Yarmouth’s Maurice Rice. Queen Anna recently set a new course best of 16.23.
There was also a fine run by Dark Recruit (Romeo Recruit-Borna Gem, Oct 14) with a 25.47 win over the 428m course (FOY 25.46, TR 25.34).
