Dadum Dadum was Monmore’s Greyhound of the Year for 2014.
Jenny Walters’ runner landed nine of his 21 races at the track in 2014. Racing manager Tony Williamson remarked: “Dadum Dadum had a great winning spell between March and May landing eight races from nine outings and really endured himself to the public at Monmore.
“Shortly afterwards he got injured and was forced to have five months off but he came back and was back to winning ways in his second race back when scoring in 28.44sec.
Paul Sallis was the Trainer of the Year at Monmore for 2014 when sending home 320 winners. Chris Allsopp, now at Towcester, just edged second with 283, one in front of Paul Slater.
Williamson is pleased with the new position for the safety curtain at Monmore Greyhound Stadium, which is used to prevent runners doing an extra lap after the race. He said: “We’ve moved it from close to the third turn to just a few yards after the pick-up.
“Since it has been moved we haven’t seen any dogs get past and do another lap which is really pleasing as it can take a lot out of the greyhounds.”
