Crayford finally turned up for the party and easily took their home leg of the BAGS/SIS Track Championship thanks to a great effort by Katie O’Flaherty.
The Kent track were in distant last place with 46 points, some 48 adrift of leaders Romford went Headford Jim went to traps for the first of the afternoon heats.
Katie O’Flaherty’s 5-4 favourite narrowly held off a spirited King Dan (Wimbledon) for a first maximum of the day.
Jim would be joined on the winner’s podium by track champion and kennelmate Fatty Arbuckle plus a third member of Team O’Flaherty, Feagh Flyer.
The hosts, with two runners in every heat racked up an impressive 78 points and moved to within two points of overall leaders Romford.
Sittingbourne, who had looked so strong, had a disastrous day and will be looking to make full use of home advantage when they host the next leg.
