Former Stow racing manager and NGRC employee Tony Smith admits to be a little confused over the non-track record of Tradition at Limerick.
Pat Dalton’s black bitch clocked 41.20 for the track’s 750 yard trip and Smith, who assists the Star with our track records claimed it as a new best for the course and distance. However the IGB dismissed the claim since the race was hand-timed.
Smith responded: “I can’t see what the problem is . . if that’s the official time then that’s the official time ! Anyway, she did 41.46 sec last night which they are now saying is the new track record. I’m keeping the 41.20 sec.”
