Professional trainer, Claude Gardiner, has voluntarily quarantined his kennels as a precautionary measure following the loss of a greyhound through illness. A GBGB spokesperson said: “We are fully supportive of Claude’s decision to place his kennels in quarantine and we are currently awaiting the results of a post mortem examination which should establish the cause of death. The local area stipendiary steward will be visiting Claude and other trainers in that area to advise on heightened bio-security and vigilance at their kennels. Any trainer that has concerns regarding the health of their greyhounds should seek veterinary advice and contact their stipendiary steward immediately.”
