Poole racing manager Ian Sillence suggests the trap draw for Saturday’s Carlsberg Classic Final means “at least four of them can win it.”
Roxholme Bob found 19 spots to land the quickest of Tuesday’s semi finals with a 26.50 run for the 450 metres, though he only prevailed over local hope Skyjack by a neck.
The first semi had seen a rematch between the Golden Crest 1-2 Aimnfire and Roxholme Ted. But while June Harvey’s runner justified his odds, Ted was eliminated in fourth place. The winner’s time of 26.60 was three spots slower than his April victory.
Sillence said: “Roxholme Bob came out of trap five and turned right in the semi, so should be well suited by trap six. Aimnfire is a confirmed middle runner and looks ideally drawn in three and Skyjack will love trap one.”
