A gala card at Lifford stadium this evening in memory of the much missed Christy Gillespie. An extremely familiar face amongst the greyhound racing community on either side of the Irish sea Christy was hugely well respected and will be a massive loss. Tonight’s card is a tribute to him and what a card it is with the two main events being the Christy Gillespie Memorial carrying a winners prize of €5000 and the Christy Gillespie / Foyle Hospice Stake carrying the same prize. The racing will be shown live on Sporty Stuff TV (RPGTV) Sky Channel 427 with the opener at 607pm and the evening’s finale seeing the dogs leave the traps at 940pm.
A pup has kindly been donated by Droopys stud in order to raise funds with rearing kindly provided by the open and competition class producing set up of Barry Rock’s Easy kennels. Full details below for anybody interested in purchasing a ticket.
