Fear Zafonic is one of only two hounds to win the East Anglian Derby twice (the other was Our Rufus). The irony - given his near miss in the English Derby - is that two of Charlie Lister’s Wimbledon winners, Sidaz Jack and Taylors Sky, were both beaten in Yarmouth deciders.

Technically, it is the ‘East Anglian’ Derby. But to the greyhound world, September means, the ‘Yarmouth’ Derby. Charlie Lister OBE loves Yarmouth and he loved winning its prestige event. (It not as though the Newark trainer was a local!)
Star Editor Floyd Amphlett caught up with the great man as he recalls some of the fabulous hounds that have worn the Derby winning jacket, starting with Swift Band in 1981.
He also talks about his days on ‘the flaps’, his retirement and still retaining an interest in the industry.
