Of the six runner Seamus Cahill loaded into his van for the trip to CENTRAL PARK on Wednesday, three returned home with victories, and a fourth will join them back at Sittingbourne next Wednesday.

The star of the night was the prolific Droopys Gold (Loughteen Blanco-Droopys Force, Sep 15) with the fastest run in the Kent Derby first round. Taking up the running off the fastest sectional of the night (3.22), the blue saw off Shaneboy Santa and Bockos Alfie (5.5l, 0.5l) in 28.88 (all -20) his 12th win in 18 races. Kennelmate Crossfield Giles (Sparta Maestro-Crossfield Betty, May 15) won the night’s third fastest Derby heat in 28.97 from Droopys Who and Bentekes Bocko in 28.97 (nk, 0.5l).

Liz McNair picked up a double with Shaneboy Russell (29.10) and King Kid (29.06). The other heats went to Black Zac (28.90) and Cappoquin Jack (29.14).

 

Ricky Holloway’s Lenson Wilson failed to qualify in the Derby but Razldazl Raidio (29.12) and Razzldalz Star (30.30) landed a double in the Grand National.

Reigning Champ Ballymac Manix (29.70) provided Seamus Cahill with his third winner. David Mullins took the other qualifier with Ballymac Leo (29.64).

Springbok winner Yassoo Martin was the biggest shock elimination in the National which will need a run-off on Saturday evening following a dead heat between Gowlane George (T1) and Insane George (T6).
