GBGB’s Open Race Planning Committee is pleased to announce the dates for all confirmed Category One races in 2022.
A total of 49 Category One races are confirmed so far, with more still in the planning stages. This includes the remaining British Bred races which will be finalised shortly – likewise, Category Two dates will be added and released soon.
The Committee is hugely grateful for the cooperation and flexibility of all the tracks that have submitted events and demonstrated their commitment to our sport’s premier races.
All Cat 1 and 2 competitions will be advertised in full in the GBGB Calendar in due course.
Mark Bird, GBGB Chief Executive Officer, said: “We were keen to get these all-important dates out before the end of the year as we hope this will allow trainers, owners and connections to properly plan ahead for these key competitions. The full calendar for 2022 shows a huge amount of variety and it is something that our whole sport can look forward to.
“Next year will see an increased number of open races across our tracks compared to 2021. Notably, this is an increase from the 42 events held in 2019, prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, and we are delighted to see this upward trend.”
