Mark Wallis with Billys Bullet gained his revenge over Stuart Buckland in the Partex Prestige Final over 645 metres at Hall Green.
Last year Wallis’s Blonde Razor looked all over the winner before being mugged on the line by Buckland’s Scala Dromin.
This year Buckland’s Supreme Turbo looked to have stolen the £6,000 to the winner decider when going into a four length lead over Billy Bullet and he was still well clear with two bends to run.
However his stride began to shorten close home and one last lunge from Billys Bullet saw him get the verdict in a blanket finish by a head in 39.07sec.
Another local runner Wiki Waki Woo was a further three quarter of a length behind, with Dinzeo a head away in fourth.
Wallis, who is having a great week having seen his Cornamaddy Jumbo get the Greyhound of the Year award, said afterwards: “Stuart Buckland did us last year and I thought for a minute he was going to do it again.
“It was a great race and really got the adrenalin going. Our dog took advantage of his rails draw and I thought he was going to win comfortably when he turned second and in the end I was relieved he has won. It’s the kennel’s first Prestige victory.”

Assistant trainer Mick Pacy said afterwards: “The dog has been taking on the all-aged runners at Sittingbourne and looks a nice type. We’ll target the Scottish Derby with him.”

Carla Hendy’s runner was led by Farley Rio until the last turn when she went on to score by just over two lengths in 39.48sec.
Hendy said afterwards: “That was her first race over six bends and she did it well. The way she ran she may even stay further.”
Tyrur Susan was another well-backed local runner to land a touch in the Partex Maiden 480.
Richard Baker’s runner was challenged until halfway by Ballymac Chaz before going on to score by just over two lengths in 28.89sec.

2013 Swindon Produce Stakes winner Son of Delboy went clear from the start and looked the likely winner at halfway but Kim Billingham’s runner finished well to score by just over a length in 28.64sec.
