Billys Bullet took another big step towards his racing comeback with a 28.49 (-20) trial at Towcester on Saturday. To put the run into perspective, the night’s two 480 metre opens were won by kennelmates Roswell Iceman (28.37) and Clondoty Alex (28.25) on similar going.
The Prestige winner has not raced since breaking his hock in the Regency in May.
Meanwhile Westmead Lola, who went into season having won 13 of her previous 15 opens, continued her return to racing with a 30.81 (-40) trial over 515 metres at Hove. The night’s A1 was won in a calculated 30.00.
