Joint English Derby second favourite Droopys Buick (14-1) clocked a very respectable 29.84 (-40) over Towcester’s Derby course on Tuesday night. (The fastest time recorded for the 500m course is Mossvale Ace’s 29.24). Jimmy Wright’s runner was having his first four bend outing following a winter break. He finished 2016 with 10 wins from his last 11 races culminating with victory in the Coral Olympic.
Kennelmate Droopys Trapeze clocked 15.47 (-20) for the sprint where the track record stands at 15.00. Coolavanny Smash clocked 30.10 (-40), also over the 500, while Shellam Delano was timed at 40.34 (-60) for the 655m trip.
