The weekend’s weather might have restricted us slightly in terms of ‘flashy’ performances, but there was still plenty to admire, including. . .
Droopys Aoife is once again the selection at Romford. Not only the fastest 575 of the week, but a winner of eight of her nine most recent races all over course and distance.
Jimmy Fenwick’s Dilly Dilly and Lemon Ronald both won at Nottingham on Monday, with Dilly getting the nod, though they had a race-off at Newcastle on Saturday with Ronald coming out on top.
It was a particularly tough call at Yarmouth with Lastfortheroad as the selection with a fastest-of-week 27.93 run off a very decent 5.34 sectional. A mention though for July pup Wardys Legend with a 28.19 run.
Special mentions too for the veteran Shotgun Bullet, just pipped by Antigua Fire’s career best run at Crayford and Poole pup Ballyoak Wilma who literally failed by a short head to five-timer Springberry May.
