Any thoughts that the McNair Kings and Queens simply need turn up to pick up the cheque for the 74th Breeders Forum Produce Stakes were put into perspective by a series of fast trials today.
Kevin Hutton’s Bocca Junior clocked the fastest time of the day (28.26) though there were also notable performances from the Cahill ‘Sharp’ duo, Darcy and Judy, Kim Billingham’s Deeteedee Viper and Ben McBride’s Dragonfly and Seanchara.
Bocca Junior is from a cracking September ’18 litter by Taylors Sky out of Terminator. It includes Liberty Belle who was only beaten half a length by her brother, 28.36 trialist Denmark who beat comrade Taranaki, plus Houston Main and Lights Out.
Trainer Kevin Hutton said: “They are a cracking bunch bred by Mike and George Burton. I think Boca Junior is probably the quickest and that was some run first look at the track, but you can see from the times of the others how good they are.
“Boca Junior was beaten in his first three A1s at Monmore but was then put into a very winnable A2 which he won well. Like all pups, picking up the confidence from getting his nose in front was just what he needed and he has gone from strength to strength.”
+ Following yesterday’s piece about a possible lack of betting on the event, Star Sports have agreed to price up heats and ante post.
