The BGBF British bred Puppy Cup at Oxford will not be run with qualifying stakes on 6th Jan (as listed in the current Calendar) but as a three round comp, starting on 13 January. The closing date for entries will be 10th January.
We fully understand why Towcester and Oxford want to run trial stakes, as it is definitely preferable to have three from each race going through, rather than two.  However as the comp has only just appeared in this recent Calendar, we feel that a closing date of 3 January is just too soon, especially with the disruption to racing we have seen in the last week.
