A ‘fastest of the night’ for Harry Williams’ Pond Natalya (Blue Artisan-Pond Tanzanite, Apr 17), a double for Liz McNair and more success for the Bang On Pippa litter were features of the BGBF British Oaks at Doncaster on Monday night.
Natalya went to traps with a 26.66 (450) most recent line of winning form at Sunderland and fully justified her 2-7f SP with a seven length win in 29.71 (quicker even than Donation – 29.78 – half an hour later).
However, the 29.96 run of 19 month old Queen Franklin (Leamaneigh Turbo-Queen Asia, Jan 18) on her first look at the track was arguably even more striking. Queen Char (Eden The Kid-Shaws Dilemma, May 17) completed the McNair double.
Romford’s Phil Simmonds had three September ’17 sisters from the Leamaneigh Turbo/Bang On Pippa litter in the opening heat. Although Bang On Gemma and Old Renee failed to get through, Bang On Annie made every post a winner when clocking 30.21.
There was a double for the litter with Rack Itup Turbo taking a Puppy Class heat at Nottingham less than an hour later. Yet another brother Rackitup Charlie also made it through to the Colwick Park semis.
